Janette George
Janette is drawn to expressing places she has visited and things she has seen where the light and colour interact to provide beauty – wide expansive skies, seas and landscapes; the hues of nature; reflections in water; textures and layers. She loves how colour can be built up and blended from its constituents using a palette knife and large soft brushes. She often starts a piece working in acrylics and a lot of water to give a soft primary layer. She then works over this, mainly with oils, as she finds they enable her to create depth and levels of colour, with constant blending and mixing of the paint to produce the hue and texture needed.
